Equal Time

You can’t be all-knowing and be happy with what you know is going on. The only thing that would make it worse is being given credit for all this insanity. The quote from the State of the Union is real. Reports that military commanders are telling the troops that the Iran War is part of God’s plan to bring about Judgment Day (and in some telling, the Rapture) are cited by credible sources, but not 100% confirmed. Fortunately, political satire doesn’t require certainty.

Equal Time imagines a world in which God is given the opportunity to rebut these allegations — and takes it. The strip assumes He’d be unhappy with what he’s seeing and divinely angry at being blamed for it. To which I say, amen.

P.S. This is actually the second version of an angry God strip I wrote. The first one covers similar ground, but veers off into a more surreal and admittedly blasphemous direction. The tolerance of blasphemy among Sketchier readers varies, but you all get an email with the strip right there. I didn’t think it fair to send you something you might find objectionable, so I set it aside and created Equal Time.
