The essay
Exhibit halls are the best part of conventions. They reflect what vendors are betting attendees want to know about or buy. With Republicans meeting in Dallas for their midterm convention (or as the Republican National Committee Chair calls it, “Trumpapalooza”). It’s not hard to imagine what’s for sale at The GOP Exhibit Hall. Lots of red caps and t-shirts. Maps showing the Gulf of America and Lake America. AI generated art of the Slob in Chief looking fit and fake. And, of course, retribution and pardons. Because this is Trump’s GOP. And where there’s a Trump, there’s grifting.
