The essay
A QUICK NOTE: “Maroon” is not a typo. It’s an insult Bugs Bunny hurled at his foes in Warner Brothers cartoons. Especially when they were acting like idiots. Bugs himself brought the term to the Sketchier universe in a strip posted on September 21st, not that you are expected to remember such things.
We all know folks from “the other side. As will be proven on Thanksgiving in homes across America, finding common ground with them can be nearly impossible. A Matter of Perspective makes this point, while offering a dim ray of hope. Regardless of your politics, most people can agree that Robert Kennedy Jr. may be the most significant health disaster since Moses introduced the Pharaoh to plagues. Feel free to test this theory at your Thanksgiving dinner.
For those who care about such things, I wasted a lot of time trying to find an image of a podium I could use for this strip. And failed. So I turned to the refuge of the hopeless and damned: AI. In this case Flux, an image generator. I typed in a detailed description of what I was looking for. It delivered this image in seconds—as in less than five. And it is much better than one I drew which looked more like a squashed blue sweet potato.
Speaking of sweet potatoes (arguably the fruit cake of the holiday), have a great Thanksgiving.
