The essay
Trump has turned distraction into an art form. Nay, a science. (Does anyone still say, “nay?”) The topic he’s distracting from is now distracting from the topic he used as a distraction. And if he needs more distraction, he’s got a White House to remodel that should do the trick.
In short, this White House has an endless supply of distractions. No matter how much he distracts, the supply remains constant. In physics there’s the law of the “conservation of mass-energy,” which Claude AI informs me is that “the total mass-energy of an isolated system stays constant. So mass can "disappear" if it converts to energy (like in nuclear reactions), but the total is conserved.” Right, what it said.
In Republican politics, the corollary is what About That Distraction calls “Trump’s Law of the Conservation of Distraction.” And this may be the only law our grifting, lying, and convicted felon of a president has not broken. And yet, there are clearly dark clouds forming as the Midterm Elections draw closer. There’s a storm coming and it’s going to be a big one. Stay tuned, and stock up on Advil.
