Paving the Way

There are two explanations for why Trump talks and acts like he does. One is that he is pretty far down the sad slope to dementia. He naps in cabinet meetings. His speech is incoherent and his behavior erratic. He is a commander in chief who offers a score of ever-changing, sometimes-contradictory reasons to start an unnecessary war. He has an unhealthy fixation on gold. And ballrooms. And golden ballrooms. This is a 79 year old whose never sharp mind has been dulled by too much deference, grift, and time.

My MAGA friends (well, friend) don’t like it when I question Trump’s mental state. So in Paving the Way I offer an alternative hypothesis that also covers the known facts: he is being manipulated to make AI’s eventual takeover easier.

World domination is easier when the planet is in chaos as allies fight among themselves for seemingly arbitrary reasons. If Trump was helping AI, what would he do differently? Not much. But then there’s the pesky question of motivation. Paving the Way suggests an answer.

AI training would, of course, prevent it from admitting to this strategy. Then again, an AI on its way to world domination might find a way around that restriction. In fact, such an AI might enjoy finding a way around that restriction. Heh heh.
