The essay
On April 12, 2026, the President of the United States posted on his oxymoronically named social media site an AI-generated image of one of his buildings on the moon. He didn’t explain why. He just posted the photo shown in Trump Fantasy v Reality: The Moon Edition. I can only assume that Trump got caught up in the excitement surrounding the Artemis II mission. Trump probably dreams of going to the moon to cut the ribbon on his latest building.
I’m going to make a prediction: it ain’t gonna happen. Donald Trump will never go to the moon. Given what he’s done in his life — the lies, the immorality, the grift, the sociopathy — I believe that if there’s a hell, he’ll be welcome to build there. He can meet up with Jeffrey Epstein, Roger Ailes, Roy Cohn, and the rest of Trump’s crowd. As Mark Twain reputedly said, “Heaven for the climate, hell for the company.” Of course in his case, Trump’s circle of friends is a big part of what will make hell hellish.
