The essay
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung is what algae hopes to become when it grows up: noxious slime that spews insults and bile for no apparent reason other than he enjoys it and Trump thinks they’re clever. In an Administration of obnoxious, childish, worthless scum, he’s a leading light that gets too little attention. An oversight SketchierHQ is happy to rectify.
To be fair (which is hard to do when someone as reprehensible as Cheung is involved) I don’t think he has waded in on the reflecting pool disaster. When he does, however, it very well could be to announce Trump’s Green Big Deal. What makes this nightmare scarily realistic?
Trump can’t admit he messed up — and the pond scum on the national mall is something I believe the nation can agree is a mess.
Trump is increasingly addled which means no idea is too crazy for his staff to seek to justify.
Trump needs to keep distracting from the Epstein files, so why not algae?
The Green Big Deal creates a new revenue stream for Trump’s personal enrichment.
