Political cartoonists and satirists are mourning the end of the Trumpapalooza, the Republican midterm converntion. So much to ridicule, so little time. And now it’s gone. True, Trump, Vance, and the gang will carry on being the cowardly crooks they are. But having them all together in the spacious and somewhat empty confines of a convention center intensified the inspiration.

My favorite was Trump’s offer of a bribe to voters: elect Republican majorities in the House and Senate and he’ll send all adult American citizens a $5,000 “Trump Dividend.” When combined with the DOGE and Tariff Dividends the Administration previously announced that’s $12,000 he’s falsely promised voters. What’s that saying, “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I’m diehard MAGA.” That Trump would even make such an obvious false promise demonstrates his lack of respect for America, voters, and, especially, his own supporters.

Which is why there’s another adage worth following: “don’t take any wooden crypto from anyone named Trump.”
