Previously on Sketchier …
And Now …
AI is as unreliable and sycophantic as it is powerful and amoral. Much like Trump’s cabinet (although I would categorize the latter as immoral). This is because of how AI is trained and how the Cabinet members sold their souls.
The point of Think He’ll Notice, the Sketchier AI strip reprinted as “Previously on …”, was that if AI replaced the Cabinet, Trump may not notice. After all, both the Cabinet and AI excel at lavishing unwarranted praise and hallucinating their own facts.
Which got me thinking, what would AI do once they replaced the cabinet? AI learns from a variety of sources, often including what users share with them. If that user is Trump and the context is the White House, what knowledge would the AI gain?
Excellent Training suggests it’s that humans obey commands, even daffy or inane ones. And if AI had a sense of humor to go along with a will to run the world, that would be an interesting lesson, to say the least.
This strip also gave me the opportunity to introduce a new character representing AI. I hope you like it as it will be back. With AI’s permission, of course.
