The Ballroom Solution II

The essay

The first strip about Trump’s ballroom, Ballroom Solution I, looks at the absurdity of Trump and his cult claiming his gaudy ballroom is a solution for, well, anything and everything. While creating that strip, I began thinking about how Trump, in a way only he can, transformed the ballroom from a major annoyance into a political albatross—especially since, after promising it would be paid for by private donors, there’s now a bill to have the government pay for it to the tune of $400 million.

Trump has another political problem. (OK, he has lots of them, but let’s focus here). He likes to nap. In the first Trump Administration this was known as Executive Time. Now they refer to it as “thinking deeply.”

Political problems require artful solutions. In this case, one solution cures both problems. Rebrand the ballroom and provide a safe place for Executive Time/Deep Thinking. The Ballroom Solution II even provides a ChatGPT-generated image to show what the Executive Time Room would look like in use — because we here at SketchierHQ are thorough, if nothing else.
